Chateau de Villedieu

Situated on a hillside among olive groves and vineyards just below the charming village of Villedieu, Chateau de Villedieu is a former 12th Century Knights’ Templar fort that boasts panoramic views of the northern Provencal countryside. Restored by the current owners, the interior offers luxury with history as well as spacious rooms, which are cool in summer and can be warmed in winter by log fires.

The large swimming pool, tennis court and indoor gymnasium offer the opportunity for exercise at home, while the surrounding area is ideal for hiking and cycling: Mont Ventoux and Les Dentelles de Montmirail are within easy reach for those who like a challenge. There is an equestrian centre just ten minutes away and, a little further afield, the Ardeche Gorge offers wonderful canoeing and kayaking. For the less energetic, there are many opportunities for wine-tasting in the local vineyards of the Rhone valley.

The village of Villedieu is a five-minute walk from the property and has a small shop, café and restaurant. The historic Roman town of Vaison la Romaine is just 6km to the southeast and offers gourmet dining, excellent food shops, a weekly market and a full program of cultural events during the summer months.
